99- सूर्यदेवकी स्थापनाकी विधि
भगवान् शिव बोले-
स्कन्द ! अब मैं सूर्यदेवकी प्रतिष्ठाका वर्णन करूँगा। पूर्ववत् मण्डप निर्माण और स्नान आदि कार्यका सम्पादन करके, पूर्वोक्त विधिसे विद्या तथा साङ्ग सूर्यदेवका आसन शय्यामें न्यास करके त्रितत्त्वका, ईश्वरका - तथा आकाशादि पाँच भूतोंका न्यास करे ॥ १-२॥
पूर्ववत् शुद्धि आदि करके पिण्डीका शोधन करे। फिर सदेशपद-पर्यन्त तत्त्व-पञ्चकका न्यास करे। तदनन्तर सर्वतोमुखी शक्ति के साथ विधिवत् स्थापना करके, गुरु सूर्य सम्बन्धी मन्त्र बोलते हुए शक्त्यन्त सूर्यका विधिवत् स्थापन करे ॥ ३-४ ॥
श्रीसूर्यदेवका स्वाम्यन्त अथवा पादान्त नाम रखे। (यथा विक्रमादित्य स्वामी अथवा रामादित्यपाद इत्यादि) सूर्यके मन्त्र पहले बताये गये हैं, उन्हींका स्थापनकालमें भी साक्षात्कार (प्रयोग) करना चाहिये ॥ ५ ॥
इस प्रकार आदि आग्नेय महापुराणमें 'सूर्य प्रतिष्ठा विधिका वर्णन' नामक निन्यानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ ॥ ९९ ॥
Summary of chapter 100 of the Agni Mahā Purana is as follows:
The hundredth and concluding chapter of Part 1 describes the installation procedure for the temple doorway — the sacred threshold through which all devotees must pass to enter Bhagavān's presence. The door frame (dvāra-aṅga) is first purified with astringent waters (kṣāya), then placed on the adhivāsana bed. The three-tattva nyāsa (ātma-tattva at the base, vidyā-tattva in the doorposts, and śiva-tattva pervading the entire doorway space) is performed. A collection of auspicious herbs and substances — barley, white mustard, akrāntā, ṛddhi, vṛddhi, the ten great sesame varieties, gopīcandana, nāgakeśara, mohinī, lakṣmaṇā, amṛtā, gorocanā, āragvadha, and dūrvā grass — is bound into the udumbara (threshold wood) for the protection of all who enter. The three-tattva nyāsa is re-established in the installed doorway, and homa offerings of fifty, a hundred, or double the standard number are made for the doorway deities.
