190 - అథ అఖణ్డద్వాదశీవ్రతమ్
ఆగ్ని పలికెను: ఇపుడు సమస్త వ్రతములకు సంపూర్ణత్వమును సంపాదించు అఖండద్వాదశీ వ్రతమును గూర్చి చేప్పెదను. మార్గశిర శుక్ల ద్వాదశినాడు ఉపవాసము చేసి శ్రీమహావిష్ణువును పూజించవలెను. పంచగవ్యమిత్ర జలముతో స్నానము చేసి దానితోనే పారణము చేయవలెను. శ్రీమహావిష్ణవు ఎదుట ఈ విధముగా ప్రార్థన చేయవలెను. “భగవంతుడా! ఏడు జన్మలనుండి నేను చేసిన వ్రతాలలో ఏదైన ఖండ మైనచో అది ఆఖండ వలదాయక మగు నట్లు అను గ్రహించుము. పురుషోత్తమా! నీవు ఈ అఖండ చరాచర విశ్వరూపమున ఉన్నట్లు నా వ్రతము కూడ అఖండ మగుగాక” ఈ విధముగ నాలుగు మాసములు ఈ వ్రతము చేయవలెను. చైత్రమునుండి ఆషాఢము వరకును చేసిన పక్షమున పేలాల పిండి నింపిన పాత్రము దానము చేయవలెను. రావణమునందు ప్రారంభించి కార్తికమునందు కూడ సమాప్తము చేయవచ్చును. ఈ విధముగా అఖండ ద్వాదశీవ్రతము చేయుటచే ఏడుజన్మలలో ఖండితము లై పోయిన (అసంపూర్ణములైన) వ్రతములు సంపూర్ణవలప్రదము లగును. దీనిని చేసినవానికి దీర్ఘాయురారోగ్య - సౌభాగ్య - రాజ్యాది వివిధభోగములు లభించును.

The Akhaṇḍa-dvādaśī vrata performed on Mārgaśīrsha-śukla-dvādaśī is described as the remedy for all previously undertaken vratas that were interrupted, incomplete, or improperly observed. Agni prescribes upavāsa, Vishṇu pūjā, and pāraṇa with pañcagavya the following morning. The distinctive prayer states: "For seven births my vratas have been left incomplete—O Purushottama, make them whole by your grace." The vrata is also performed as a four-month discipline from Āshāḍha to Āśvayuja with the giving of a saktu-pātra (container of roasted grain) monthly. It bestows āyus, ārogya, saubhāgya, and rājya upon the performer.
