71 - అథ గణేశపూజావిధిః.

ఈశ్వరుడు పలికెను;- విఘ్న వినాశమునకై గణపతిపూజను గూర్చి చెప్పెదను, ఇది సకలాభీష్టములను ఇచ్చును. “గణంజయాయస్వాహా హృదయాయనమః; ఏకదంష్ట్రాయ హుం ఫట్ శిర సే నమః, అచల కర్ణినే నమో నమః శిఖాయై నమః, గజవ డ్రాయ నమో, నమః కవచాయ నమః, మహోదరాయ చజ్ఞాయ నమః నేత్రాభ్యాం నమః, సుదణ్ణహస్తాయ నమః అసాయనము” అని అంగన్యాసములు చేసికొనవలెను. ముఖ్యకమలమండలము పెదళములందు, క్రిందిదళములందును గణ - గురు - గురుపాదుకా - శ క్తి - అనంత - ధర్మమును, పూజించి, కమలకర్ణికమీద బీజమును పూజింపవలెను. తీవ్ర, జ్వాలినీ, నంద భోగదా, కామరూపిణీ, ఉగ్రా - తేజోవతీ, సత్యా, విఘ్ననాశినీ అను తొమ్మిది పీఠశ క్తులను పూజించ వలేను. పిమ్మట చందన చూర్ణమును ఆసనముగ సమర్పించవలెను. 'యం' అనునది శోషక వాయుబీజము, 'రం' అగ్ని బీజము. ‘లం’ పృథివీబీజము, 'వం' అమృతబీజము, “ఓం లమ్బోదరాయ విద్మహే మహోదరాయ ధీమహి, తన్నో దన్తః ప్రచోదయాత్” అనునది గణేశ గాయత్రీ మంత్రము, గణపతి - గణాధిప - గణేశ . గణనాయక . గణక్రీడ - వక్రతుండ . ఏకదంష్ట్ర - మహోదర - గజవక్త - లంబోదర - వికట - విఘ్న నాశన - ధూమ్రవర్ణులను, మహేంద్ర దిక్పాలకులను గణపతిపూజాంగముగ పూజించవలెను.

This chapter provides the complete pūjā procedure for Bhagavān Gaṇeśa — the lord of all beginnings and the remover of obstacles, who must be worshipped first in any auspicious undertaking. The Gaṇeśa Gāyatrī mantra, the aṅga-nyāsa mantras for the worship, and the identification of the eight pīṭha-śaktis who attend Gaṇeśa in the maṇḍala — Tīvrā, Jvālinī, Nandā, Bhadrā, Vilasinī, Mṛtā, Mahāviṣṇavī, and Ratipriyā — are given. The twelve names of Gaṇeśa used as successive stages of the pūjā — Gaṇapati, Gajānana, Lambodara, Vighnārāja, Śūrpakarṇa, Heramba, Skandapūrvaja, Kapila, Ṛddhibhartā, Śivalaya, Muṣkavāhana, Siddha — are enumerated. The offerings most beloved by Gaṇeśa — modaka sweets, durva grass, red flowers — and the auspicious results of his worship are affirmed.
