88 - ఘృత పర్వత దానము
ఈశ్వరుడు నారదునకు ఇట్లు చెప్పెను: ఇక మీదట ఘృతాచల దాన విషయము తెలి పెదను. ఇది సర్వోత్త మము. ఘృతము (నేయి) దివ్యమయిన పదార్థము; తేజోమయము; మహాపాతక నాశనము. దీని క్రీ శ క్తిననుసరించి ఇరు వదికాని పదికాని ఐదుకాని కడవలనేయి కావలెను. శ క్తి హీనులు రెండు కడవల నేతితోనైన చేయవచ్చును. మొత్తము నేతిలో నాలుగవ వంతుతో విష్కంభ పర్వతములను చేయవలెను. కుంభముల పై మంచి తెల్లని బియ్యపుకడవల నుంచ వలెను. వాటిని దగ్గరగా చేర్చి ఎత్తుగా నుండునట్లు చక్కగా అందముగా యథా విధానముగా ఆమర్చి తెల్లని వస్త్రములతో చెరకు గడలతో పండ్లతో కప్పుటయు చుట్టుటయు చేయవలెను. ధాన్య పర్వత విషయమునం దువలెనే అధివాసమును దేవతా పూజను జరిపి ఉదయమున ఆచార్యునకు (పురోహితునకు) అవి సమర్పించవలెను. ప్రైవలెనే విష్కంభ పర్వతము లను ఋత్విక్కులకీయవలేను. (మంత్రము:) “అమృతపు తేజపు సంయోగముచే ఘృతము (నేయి) ఉత్పన్నమయినది. కావున ఆమృత రూపుడును ఘృతతేజ స్సే కిరణములుగా గలవాడును విశ్వరూపుడునగు శంకరుడు ఈ వ్రతముచే ప్రీతు డగుగాక ! తేజోమయమగు బ్రహ్మతత్వము ఘృతమునందే నిలిచి యున్నది. అట్టి మృతపు పర్వతమా! నన్ను నీవెల్లప్పు డును రక్షించుము.” అని ఈ విధానముతో ఘృత సర్వత దానము చేసినవారెంతటి మహాపాతకులై నను పాపములు నశించి శంకర లోకము నందుదురు. హంసలు బెగ్గురులు తెల్లని కొంగ జాతి నీటి పక్షులు మోయుచుండ చిరు గజ్జల గుంపుల మాలలతో శోభించు విమానము పై ఆప్సరలు సిద్దులు విద్యాధరులు తను కోలుచుచుండ పితృదేవతలతో కూడి కల్పాంతము వరకు విహరింతురు.

Bhagavān Matsya details the procedure for Kārpasāchala-Dāna, the sacred donation of a symbolic mountain constructed from clean, unblemished raw cotton. The practitioner arranges twenty maunds of raw cotton upon a sanctified platform, decorating it with golden images, silver ornaments, fruit clusters, and colorful banners. The devotee invokes the Devas of protection and purity within the cotton heap, performing worship with sandalwood paste, white flowers, and lighted lamps. Presenting this cotton mountain to a worthy Brāhmaṇa purifies the donor from all subtle sins of thought, word, and deed, bestows pure garments and endless prosperity, and grants residence in the celestial realm of Svarga.
