Summary of chapter 139 of the Agni Purāṇa is as follows:
The fruits corresponding to each of the sixty-year cycle names (saṃvatsaras) of the Indian luni-solar calendar are described. Agni enumerates the sixty names from Prabhava through Akṣaya and assigns to each a presiding deity, a predominant quality (śubha or aśubha), and the probable characteristics of persons born or events begun under that year. Agricultural predictions, rainfall forecasts, and royal fortunes are correlated with the saṃvatsara lord. The chapter serves as a reference for jyotiṣa-based counsel on auspicious timing.
