Gandharvas

Gandharvas are the celestial musicians and singers of svarga. The Purāṇas and the Itihāsas name many of them, tell of their music in the court of Indra, and record their meetings with ṛshis, kings and devas. The pages below explain them one by one.

Citrasena

Citrasena was a gandharva in Indra's court who taught Arjuna music and dance in Svarga and carried Indra's message to Ūrvaśī.

Dhṛtarāshṭra (Gandharva)

This Dhṛtarāshṭra is a gandharva whom Indra sent to King Marutta with an ultimatum in the Aśvamedhika Parva.
