Vana Parva

The Vana Parva, also called the Āraṇyaka Parva (the Book of the Forest), is the third of the eighteen parvas of the Mahābhārata. It covers the forest exile of the Pāṇḍavas, from their departure at Hāstinapura onward.

The chapter guide below covers the first fifty chapters, up to Arjuna’s journey to Indraloka to receive divine weapons. These chapters hold three sub-parvas: the Arjunābhigamana Parva, the Kairāta Parva and the Indralokābhigamana Parva.
