Grāmaṇi
Grāmaṇi · grāma-ṇī, “the leader of a host”
Grāmaṇi is a gandharva who attends Bhagavān Sūrya.
The Brahma Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Sūrya stays with gandharvas, apsarās, serpents and rākshasas, two months with each group in turn. In Caitra and Vaiśākha the gandharvas with him, foremost singers, are Saka, Raśmi, Tumburu and Nārada, and Grāmaṇi with them. In those months the Ādityas Dhātā and Aryaman, the mānasa-putras of Brahmā Pulastya and Pulaha, the nāgas Khaṇḍaka and Vāsuki, the apsarās Kratusthalā and Puñjikasthalā, the yakshas Rathakṛtsa and Raja, and the rākshasas Heti and Prati also attend him.
