భాగవత మహా పురాణము
Summary of chapter 13 of the Bhāgavata Mahā Purana is as follows:
This chapter documents the branch of the Solar Dynasty descending from King Nimi, another son of Vaivasvata Manu. When King Nimi initiated a thousand-year sacrifice, he requested Sage Vasishṭha to serve as the chief priest; however, because Vasishṭha was committed to Indra's sacrifice, Nimi appointed another priest. Returning to find Nimi proceeding without him, Vasishṭha cursed Nimi's body to fall dead, whereupon Nimi cursed Vasishṭha's body to perish as well. The priests churned the physical body of the deceased King Nimi, generating a child named Janaka (also called Vaideha and Mithila), who established the kingdom of Mithilā. The monarchs of this dynasty were renowned as Janakas—saintly kings (*Rājarshis*) who achieved complete spiritual liberation and self-realization while administering royal affairs with detachment.
