45 - Ramadvadashivrata
Durvasas said:
1. In the month of Jyeshtha (Mithuna) similarly, after sankalpa in the prescribed manner, one should worship the lord with flowers of different kinds.
2-4. He should worship the feet as Rama, waist as Trivikrama, belly as Dhrutavishva (the holder of the universe), chest as Samvatsara, neck as Samvartaka, hands as Sarvastradharin (the bearer of all weapons), the conch and disc by their names (Panchajanya and Sudarshana) and head as Sahasrashiras (thousand-headed). After this, as before; the pot should be placed in front.
5. As before, the golden images of Rama and Lakshmana covered in clothes, should be worshipped in the prescribed manner, and should be gifted to a Brahmin the next morning by him who desires to accomplish his wishes.
6-7. When the advice of Vasishtha was sought by Dasharatha when he was without a son, it was this that was suggested to him by the sage.
8. Grasping the secret, the king observed this and the result was Vishnu in a fourfold form became his sons, being pleased with him.
9. Such is the result in this world. I shall tell you the effect in the world beyond.
10. The performer enjoys the pleasures of heaven as long as Indra remains its lord. Then he takes birth as a king who would perform a hundred sacrifices (and thus becomes one like Indra himself).
11. One who performs this vrata without any desire gets all his sins removed and, in the end, attains eternal bliss.

The narrative of King Suratha and Chitrāṅgadā continues, elaborating on the intense penances performed by King Suratha and the merchant Samādhi on the holy riverbank under the guidance of Maharshi Medhā. Modeling an earthen idol of the Divine Mother, they offered heartfelt prayers, rigorous fasting, and complete self-surrender for three full years until Goddess Mahāmāyā manifested in Her radiant form. The Mother Divine granted King Suratha the restoration of his earthly kingdom and the boon to be born as Sāvarṇi Manu in the next Manvantara, while bestowing ultimate Brahma-jñāna and liberation upon the merchant Samādhi.
