46 - సత్కర్మ మహిమ - కర్మ విపాక ఫలం
‘జ్ఞానప్రదాతా! మానవులకు స్వర్గం, నానాప్రకారాల భోగాలు, సుఖం, రూపం, బలం, బుద్ధి, పరాక్రమం వంటి వన్నీ పుణ్య ప్రభావం వల్లనే సమకూరుతాయని విన్నాను. ఎలాగైతే విష్ణువే విజయుడవుతాడు. అసురులు కారో, అలాగే ధర్మమే గెలుస్తుంది - అధర్మం కాదు, సత్యమే నిలుస్తుంది - అసత్యం కాదు, క్షమయే సుఖాన్నిస్తుంది, దేవునికి దగ్గర చేస్తుంది. క్రోధం కాదు అని కూడ పెద్దల ద్వారా విన్నాను.
ధర్మోజయతి నా ధర్మః
సత్యం జయతి నా నృతం ।
క్షమాజయతి నక్రోధో
విష్ణుర్జయతి నాసురః ॥
సుకృతం వల్ల శుభం కలుగుతుందటారు. స్వామీ! ఈ కర్మఫలాల వల్ల వచ్చే జన్మల గూర్చి ఇంకా తెలుసుకోవాలని వుంది’ అన్నాడు కశ్యపాత్మజుడు. చెప్పసాగాడు మహావిష్ణువు.
‘ఓయి పక్షీంద్రా! ఈ లోకంలో ఆత్మజ్ఞానులకు శాసకుడు గురువు. దురాత్ములకు శాసకుడు రాజు. గుప్తరూపంలో పాపాలు చేసేవారికి శాసకుడు యమధర్మరాజు.
గురురాత్మ వతాం శాస్తా
రాజా శాస్తా దురాత్మనాం ।
ఇహ ప్రచ్ఛన్న పాపానాం
శాస్తా వైవస్వతో యమః ॥
పాపాలకు ప్రాయశ్చిత్తం చేసుకోకుండా గాని, చేసుకొని మరల పాపాలను చేసి గాని మరణిస్తే ఆ జీవికి అనేక ప్రకారాల నరకములలో పడవలసి వుంటుంది. అక్కడి యాతనల నుండి విముక్తి పొందినా మరల పుడమిపై పుట్టవలసి వుంటుంది. ఏ పాపం చేసిన వాడికెటువంటి జన్మ వస్తుందో ఇది వఱకే విన్నావు కదా! తన ధర్మము తాను పాలిస్తూ మంచిగా వుండేవాడు ఊర్ధ్వలోకాలకు వెళతాడు. ధర్మాన్ని పాలించకపోయినా చెడ్డపనులు చేసినా ఆ జీవి అధోగతి పాలవుతాడు.
