Śuklikā
Śuklikā
Śuklikā is one of the ten daughters of Śāradā Devī. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Kaṇva, son of Kaśyapa Maharshi, and his wife Āryāvatī had ten sons by the vara of Sarasvatī Devī. When they were twelve years old, Śāradā Devī, who loves her bhaktas, gave them her daughters, called in order Upādhyāyī, Dīkshitā, Pāṭhakī, Śuklikā, Miśrāṇī, Agnihotriṇī, Dvivedinī, Trivedinī, Pāṇḍyāyanī and Caturvedinī. Śuklikā became the wife of Śukla. Each of those daughters had sixteen sons, and they all became gotrakāras.
