Dvivedinī

Dvivedinī · dvivedinī

Dvivedinī is a daughter of Śāradā Devī and the wife of Dvivedī. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that when the ten sons of Kaṇva were twelve years old, Śāradā Devī, who loves her bhaktas, gave them her daughters, called in order Upādhyāyī, Dīkshitā, Pāṭhakī, Śuklikā, Miśrāṇī, Agnihotriṇī, Dvivedinī, Trivedinī, Pāṇḍyāyanī and Caturvedinī. Each of those daughters had sixteen sons from her husband, and they all became gotrakāras.
