Dhānyapāla
Dhānyapāla · dhānya-pāla, “the protector of grain”
The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Vāyu, who in a former birth was the brāhmaṇa Anila, was born on earth in the house of Dhānyapāla, a man of the vaiśya jāti, in mūla-gaṇḍānta. His father and mother left him in the Vindhya forest of Kāśī. A childless weaver named Alika took the boy home, and he became famous by the name Kabīra. Sūta tells this to a muni.
