Nāgavīthī

Nāgavīthī · nāga-vīthī, “the path of the nāgas”

Nāgavīthī was the daughter of Yāmi, one of the ten wives of Dharma, and the mother of Vṛshala.

The Brahma Purāṇa tells that Daksha gave ten of his daughters to Dharma: Arundhatī, Vasu, Yāmi, Lambā, Bhānu, Marutvatī, Saṅkalpā, Muhūrtā, Sādhyā and Viśvā. Of their offspring, Yāmi’s daughter was Nāgavīthī, and in Nāgavīthī, born of Yāmi, Vṛshala was born.
