Droṇapushpī

Droṇapushpī · droṇa-pushpī, “she of the droṇa flower”

Grammar: feminine noun; a compound of droṇa and pushpa (flower). The printed brackets give the name गूमा (gūmā).

Meaning: a flower offered in the pūjā of Bhagavatī.

In the scriptures: In the Mahānavamī vrata, Bhagavān Kṛshṇa tells Yudhishṭhira that after the Ashṭamī pūjā of the mūrti of Durgā, pūjā should be offered from that same day with droṇapushpī. What the divine body of Bhagavatī spent in her battle with the asuras was made whole by droṇapushpī alone, and so it is most dear to her (Bhavishya Purāṇa, Uttara Parva, Chapter 138).
