Gaṇapāṭha
Gaṇapāṭha · gaṇa-pāṭha, “the recitation of the word-groups”
The Gaṇapāṭha is one of the four parts of the Vyākaraṇa-śāstra (the science of grammar) that Maharshi Pāṇini composed. Sūta tells the ṛshis this at the close of Pāṇini’s account in the Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa.
Pāṇini, the son of Sāma, had received the best of tīrthas from Bhagavān Rudra, who told him that by it he would have done all that is to be done. He came home and composed the Vyākaraṇa-śāstra in the form of the Sūtrapāṭha, the Dhātupāṭha, the Gaṇapāṭha and the Liṅgasūtra, and he attained the supreme nirvāṇa.
