Anamitra (son of Kroshṭu)

Anamitra · an-amitra, “the one without enemies”

Anamitra is a son of Kroshṭu by his wife Gāndhārī, in the line of Yadu, and the father of Nighna. The Brahma Purāṇa calls him mighty and a conqueror of enemies.

The line of Kroshṭu

The Sūta tells the munis that Kroshṭu‘s wives were Gāndhārī and Mādrī. Gāndhārī bore the mighty Anamitra; Mādrī bore Yudhājit and Devamīḍhusha. Anamitra, conqueror of enemies, had a son Nighna, and Nighna had two sons, Prasena and Satrājit, who conquered enemy armies. Satrājit later received the Syamantaka gem from Sūrya.
