Asita Muni

Asita

Asita Muni is one of the five great ones who received the cows of the churning. Bhagavān Śrī Kṛshṇa tells Yudhishṭhira in the Uttara Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa that five cows, Nandā, Subhadrā, Surabhi, Suśīlā and Bahulā, arose with amṛta at the churning of the Kshīra Sāgara. The devas gave these five wish-fulfilling cows to Jamadagni, Bharadvāja, Vasishṭha, Asita and Gautama Muni, and these great ones accepted them.
