Somapā

Somapā · soma-pā

Somapā was one of the disciples of the brāhmaṇa Mukunda. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that when Mukunda was born again as Akbara, seven of his beloved disciples were born again and came to his court. Somapā, born in the Gautama vaṃśa, was born as Mānasiṃha and became the senāpati of Akbara, “the crest-jewel of Ārya kings”.
