Bhīshmaka, Father of Mudgala

Bhīshmaka

Bhīshmaka is the father of King Mudgala. In the Uttara Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa, Yamarāja asks his kiṅkaras why they have brought Mudgala Muni, and says: “I told you to bring Mudgala the kshatriya. He lives in Kauṇḍinyanagara and is the son of Bhīshmaka, and his life is finished. Release this muni at once and bring him.”
