Vināyakas
Vināyaka
The Vināyakas are named as a group in two rites of the Bhavishya Purāṇa.
Nārada Maharshi teaches Sāmba the testing of wood for a pratimā. In the bali offered at the tree before it is felled, one worships the tree, and with it the devatās, the pitṛdevatās, piśācas, rākshasas, sarpas, the sura-gaṇas, the Vināyakas and others.

In the udyāpana of the Āśā Daśamī vrata, which Śrī Kṛshṇa teaches Yudhishṭhira, one prays for the fulfilment of one’s wishes to the ten Āśā Devīs, and also to the nakshatras, grahas, tārāgrahas, nakshatra-mātṛkās, bhūtas, pretas and vināyakas.
