Uktha

Uktha

Grammar: neuter noun.

Meaning: a yajña.

In the scriptures: in the Ubhaya Saptamī vrata, Śrī Kṛshṇa tells Yudhishṭhira that on each śukla saptamī one worships Bhagavān Sūrya under a name proper to the month. In Caitra he is Vedāṃśu, and the fruit is pure, like that of the yajña called Uktha.
