Indravana

Indravana · indra-vana, “the forest of Indra”

Indravana is the first of the three seats of Bhagavān Sūrya in Jambūdvīpa. Sumantu Muni names it in the Brahma Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa.

The three seats of Bhagavān Sūrya

Sumantu says that Sūrya Deva has three seats in this dvīpa. The first is Indravana, the second Muṇḍīra and the third Kālapriya, famous in the three lokas. There is one more seat, told by Brahmā long ago.
