Khaṇḍaka
Khaṇḍaka · khaṇḍaka
Khaṇḍaka is a nāga who attends Bhagavān Sūrya.
The Brahma Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Bhagavān Sūrya stays with gandharvas, apsarās, serpents and rākshasas, two months with each group in turn. In Caitra and Vaiśākha the nāgas with him are Khaṇḍaka and Vāsuki, and Aśvatara with them. In those months the Ādityas Dhātā and Aryaman, the mānasa-putras of Brahmā Pulastya and Pulaha, the gandharvas Saka, Raśmi, Tumburu, Nārada and Grāmaṇi, the apsarās Kratusthalā and Puñjikasthalā, the yakshas Rathakṛtsa and Raja, and the rākshasas Heti and Prati also attend him.
