Maṇḍalin
Maṇḍalin · maṇḍalin, “a snake of the maṇḍalin division”

Meaning: one of the four divisions of snakes.
In the scriptures: Kaśyapa Prajāpati divided sarpas into four: darvīkaras, maṇḍalins, rājilas and vyantaras. The poison of the maṇḍalins is pitta, and their blood is red, thick and abundant.
