Bhinna-darśana

Bhinna-darśana · bhinna-darśana, “one of differing view”

Grammar: masculine noun, a compound of bhinna (differing) and darśana (view).

Meaning: one who holds a differing view.

In the scriptures: Nārada tells Sāmba that of the thousand names, some people of tāmasa mind and differing views insist, with great effort and with examples, that only some are the cause of the world. Some say Brahmā is the cause, some Divākara, some Śiva, some Vishṇu. On various occasions for various purposes various devatās are spoken of as the cause, but the one Sūrya Deva, renowned as Svayambhū, is to be known by many names, forms and acts (Bhavishya Purāṇa, Brahma Parva, Chapter 78).
