Śaiva Parva
Śaiva Parva, “the section of Śiva”
The Śaiva Parva is the third of the five parvas (sections) in which Brahmā declared the Bhavishya Purāṇa.
The five parvas
In the Brahma Parva, Sumantu tells King Śatānīka that by hearing this Purāṇa even the pāpa of brahmahatyā is removed, and that it has the five marks of a Purāṇa. Brahmā declared it in five parvas:
- Brāhma, the first
- Vaishṇava, the second
- Śaiva, the third
- Saura, also called Tvāshṭra, the fourth
- Pratisarga, the fifth, praised by all the lokas
