Brahma Yoni Tīrtha

Brahma Yoni Tīrtha is a tīrtha (holy bathing place) on the river Sarasvatī. Its name means “the womb, or source, of Brahmā”. It is named for the presence of Brahmā, the Sarvalokapitāmaha (grandfather of all the worlds), who created many tīrthas at this place together with the devas.

Balarāma at Brahma Yoni Tīrtha

During his pilgrimage along the Sarasvatī, Balarāma bathed here and made offerings. He then went on to the next tīrtha, the Kaubera Tīrtha.
