Death in the Karṇa Parva, Chapter 82

On the seventeenth day, Sātyaki killed Viśoka, son of the Kekaya king. Viśoka’s father Ugrakarmā was the Kekaya senāpati (army commander). To answer his son’s death, he turned his arrows on Prasenā and covered Karṇa’s son with swift shafts. Prasenā fell under the force of those arrows.

Karṇa’s response

Karṇa saw his son Prasenā fall. His grief turned at once into rage. He turned on Sātyaki and cried, “You are dead, Śaineya!” He shot a terrible arrow at him. Śikhaṇḍī stepped in and cut that arrow.

Karṇa avenged Prasenā’s death by killing Ugrakarmā. He cut off his arms and his head with three ardhacandra (crescent-headed) arrows.
