Bīrabala

Bīrabala

The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that the seven beloved disciples of the brāhmaṇa Mukunda were born again and came to the court of Akbara, the rebirth of Mukunda. Among them Devāpi became famous as Bīrabala. He was a western brāhmaṇa, and had “the abhimāna of Sarasvatī Devī, the presiding devī of speech”.
