Yajñakīrti
Yajñakīrti was the king of Haridvāra. He is called Haridvāra-pati, lord of Haridvāra. Haridvāra is the holy city in the north on the Gaṅgā. The Vivāha Khaṇḍa of the Ānanda Rāmāyaṇa names him among the kings who came to the svayaṃvara of Campikā.
His name joins yajña (a fire ritual) and kīrti (glory).
At Campikā’s svayaṃvara
Bhūrikīrti Mahārāja arranged the svayaṃvara (the ceremony where a princess chooses her husband) of Campikā at Vaṭapura. Many kings gathered there. A dādi named Nanda described each king to Campikā. Yajñakīrti was one of them.
Campikā passed him over politely. She placed her māla (garland) on Kuśa and chose him.
