Vidūratha

Vidūratha was a warrior of the Vṛṣṇi and Andhaka clans. He was one of the Yādava heroes of Dvārakā. In the last chapters of the Mahābhārata, the great ones who had lived on earth returned to their divine sources. The Svargārohaṇa Parva names Vidūratha among the noble men who were taken into the Viśvedevas.

A Yādava hero

Vidūratha belonged to the Yādava line. He shared in the fame of the Vṛṣṇi and Andhaka clans of Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma. He stands in the list of Yādava champions with Niśaṭha, Akrūra, Sāmba and others who upheld the honour of their house.

His final gati

In the fifth chapter of the Svargārohaṇa Parva, Sauti tells King Janamejaya how each hero who had left the world joined the group of devas whose portion he had been. Vidūratha is named among these noble men, together with Virāṭa, Drupada, Dhṛṣṭaketu, Niśaṭha, Bhūriśravas, Śala and Uttara. They entered the Viśvedevas and became one with them. Vidūratha was absorbed into this divine source and was not born again as a mortal.
