Satyadeva of Kaliṅga
Satyadeva was a warrior from Kaliṅga who fought for the Kauravas at the Kurukṣetra war. Bhīmasena killed him on the second day of the battle.
The Kaliṅga army at Kurukṣetra
The kingdom of Kaliṅga, in eastern India, joined the Kaurava side under its king Bhānumanta. It sent a large force. On the second day this force met Bhīmasena at the height of his fury.
Satyadeva was among the Kaliṅga warriors Bhīma killed in the long attack that also took Bhānumanta and Śakradeva. The Kaliṅga army lost several commanders and royal men in the same fight. This was the direct result of Bhīma’s great attack.
