Kāśirāja, Ally of the Pāṇḍavas
Kāśirāja was the king of Kāśī. He was an ally of the Pāṇḍavas at Kurukshetra. Bhīshma names him as a ratha (a chariot warrior) among the Pāṇḍava forces in the Rathātiratha-Saṃkhyāna, his count of the warriors.
Kāśirāja among the Pāṇḍava rathas
In Bhīshma’s Rathātiratha count, the king of Kāśī is listed among the rathas of the Pāṇḍava side. The king of Kāśī named here is a different person from the unnamed king of Kāśī who is the father of Ambā, Ambikā and Ambālikā in the Ambopākhyāna.
