Dilīpa, Son of Daśaratha

Dilīpa

The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Dilīpa was a king of the Ikshvāku line in the Satya Yuga. Sūta names him to Śaunaka in the account of the kings. He was the son of Daśaratha and the father of Viśvāsaha. The text marks this Dilīpa as the first, and his father Daśaratha, son of Harivarmā, as the first too. Viśvāsaha ruled 10,000 years.
