Avikshita (son of Śvaphalka)

Avikshita

Avikshita is a son of Śvaphalka of the Vṛshṇi line and a brother of Akrūra. The Sūta names him among Śvaphalka’s children in the line of Kroshṭu, in the Brahma Purāṇa.

Son of Śvaphalka

Śvaphalka, a son of Vṛshṇi, was devoted to dharma; wherever he dwelt there was no disease and no drought, and when he came to Kāśī the rain returned after three dry years. He married Gāndinī, daughter of the lord of Kāśī. Born to Śvaphalka were Akrūra, a giver, a yajvan, a hero and learned, then Upamadgu, Madgu, Mandara, Arimejaya, Avikshita, Andhakaru, Avāha and Prativāha, and a daughter, Sundarī.
