Āpa is one of the sons of Svārocisha Manu, the Manu of the second manvantara. He is not Āpa, the first of the eight Vasus.

In the time of Svāroci Manu the ṛshis were Urva, Stamba, Kaśyapa, Prāṇa, Bṛhaspati, Datta, Atri and Cyavana, and the devas were the Tushitas, the seven devas of great vows. The sons of Svāroci were Havighna, Sukṛti, Jyoti, Āpa, Mūrti, Pratīta, Nabhasya, Nabhas and Ūrjas. “This is the matter of the second manvantara,” the Purāṇa closes.
