Agnibāhu (son of Svāyambhuva Manu)

Agnibāhu · agni-bāhu, “the one with arms of fire”

Agnibāhu is a son of Svāyambhuva Manu, the Manu of the first manvantara. The Brahma Purāṇa names him second among Manu’s ten sons.

In the first manvantara

The munis ask Lomaharshaṇa to tell the manvantaras. The Sūta says that in the time of Svāyambhuva Manu the seven ṛshis were Marīci, Atri, Aṅgiras, Pulaha, Kratu, Pulastya and Vasishṭha, the sons of Brahmā, who dwell in the northern direction. The ten sons of Svāyambhuva Manu were Āgnīdhra, Agnibāhu, Medhya, Medhātithi, Vasu, Jyotishmān, Dyutimān, Havya, Sabala and Putra. “This is the first manvantara.”
