Āgneyī (wife of Havirdhāna)
Āgneyī, “daughter of Agni”
Āgneyī is the wife of Havirdhāna, the grandson of King Pṛthu, and the mother of six sons, the first of them Prācīnabarhi, who became a Prajāpati. She is a different woman from Āgneyī the wife of Puru, son of Cākshusha Manu.
Her family
Lomaharshaṇa the Sūta tells the munis the line that came from Pṛthu, the first king to receive the abhisheka of the rājasūya, after whom the earth is called Pṛthivī. Pṛthu’s sons were Antardhi and Pāti. From Antardhāna (Antardhi), Śikhaṇḍinī bore Havirdhāna. From Havirdhāna, Āgneyī bore six sons: Prācīnabarhi, Śukra, Gaya, Kṛshṇa, Vraja and Ajina.
Her eldest son, Bhagavān Prācīnabarhi, became a Prajāpati. In the land he ruled, the darbha grass growing in the water sprouted with its tips pointing east, and so he was called Prācīnabarhi. He married Savarṇā, the daughter of the Ocean.
