Kīrti (Indra)

Kīrti, “fame”

Kīrti is the twelfth of the fourteen Indras in the Brahma Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa. Sumantu Muni names them to King Śatānīka, from Vishṇubhuk, the first, to Divaspati, the fourteenth. Kīrti follows Susāttvika and is followed by Śatadhāma. The text glosses Ojasvī, the seventh, as the Indra of the present time, and calls the Indras of this list those who will come in the future.
