Kandaru
Kandaru was a daitya (one of the sons of Diti, who fought the devas). He was the father of Devavatī. Her marriage was one of those held at the great gathering at Hāṭakeśvara. The Vāmana Mahā Purāṇa tells this in Chapters 37–40.
Who he was
Kandaru was a daitya whose daughter Devavatī was among the women whose marriages were arranged at the sacred tīrtha (pilgrimage place) of Hāṭakeśvara. A daitya‘s daughter was included in this holy occasion.
