Mīrā
Mīrā
The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Mānakāra, a disciple of the brāhmaṇa Mukunda, through nārī-bhāva (the inner attitude of a woman) obtained a woman’s body and became the king’s daughter famed as Mīrā. Holding to the mata of Madhvācārya, Mīrā became very famous. Sūta says to Śaunaka that her prabandha (composition) will be auspicious for the terrible Kali-kāla. The printed heading of the chapter calls her Mīrābāī.
