Kīlaka

Kīlaka

The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that the poet Madhuvratī, one of the thirteen disciples of the brāhmaṇa Mukunda, was devoted to jñāna and dhyāna and composed verse in the bhāshā (the spoken tongue). He became famous as Kīlaka. The wise Kīlaka composed the Rāmalīlā and followed the mata of Rāmānanda. Sūta gives this to Śaunaka.
