Vyākaraṇa-Mahābhāshya

Vyākaraṇa-Mahābhāshya · vyākaraṇa-mahā-bhāshya, “the great commentary on grammar”

The Vyākaraṇa-Mahābhāshya is the work of which Patañjali Muni is held to be the author. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa, in Sūta’s account, tells of Patañjali on the Citrakūṭa mountain. He was a great scholar who knew the true meaning of the Vedas and Vedāṅgas, was devoted to the Gītā-śāstra, and was a bhakta of Bhagavān Vishṇu and a speaker of truth.
