Dharmasāvarṇi Manvantara
A manvantara is one of the fourteen long ages that make up a kalpa (a great cycle of the universe). Each has its own Manu (the first father and ruler of humankind for that age), its own Indra (king of the devas), its own devas and its own Saptarshis (seven great ṛshis).
The Dharmasāvarṇi Manvantara is the eleventh of the fourteen manvantaras. It lies in the future. Its Manu is Dharmasāvarṇi and its Indra is Vaidhṛta. In this age Bhagavān Śrī Hari will come down into the world as Dharmasetu, born to Āryaka and Vaidhṛtā, and will protect the three worlds during that manvantara.
Manu
The Manu of the eleventh age is Dharmasāvarṇi, a man who has mastered his senses. His sons include Satyadharma, Kshemadhanvā and others.
Indra
The Indra of this manvantara is Vaidhṛta.
Devas and Saptarshis
The groups of devas include the Vihaṅgamas, the Kāmagamas and the Nirvāṇarucis. The Saptarshis include Aruṇa and Havishmān, among others.
Avatāra
In this manvantara, Bhagavān Śrī Hari will be born to Āryaka and Vaidhṛtā as Dharmasetu. He will protect and support the three worlds through that age.
In the Vishṇu Dharmottara Purāṇa
The Vishṇu Dharmottara Purāṇa follows a different tradition for the eleventh manvantara. The Bhāgavata names the eleventh Manu as Dharmasāvarṇi, but the Vishṇu Dharmottara names him as the son of Rudra.
- The eight sons of this Manu: Sarvartuguṇa, Suśarmā, Senānīka, Puroddahata, Kshemadhanvā, Dṛḍhendu, Ādarśa and Puṇḍraka
- The Saptarshis: Havishmān, Vapushmān, Varuṇa, Abdistara, Vishṇu and Agnitejā, among others
- The three groups of devas: Nirmadhya, Ratha and Kāmaga, with thirty devas in each group
- Indra: Vṛsha
- The daitya (asura) opponent: Daśagrīva, who has received a boon from Brahmā that no human being can kill him
Bhagavān Vishṇu will appear in the form called Śrī-rūpa, with a dark-blue body and carrying a śūla (trident), to overcome Daśagrīva.
