Arkasāvarṇi

Arkasāvarṇi · arka-sāvarṇi, “the Sāvarṇi of Arka”

Arkasāvarṇi is one of the fourteen Manus. Sumantu Muni tells King Śatānīka that six Manus have passed and that Vaivasvata, the seventh, is the present one. Seven more will come, and Arkasāvarṇi is the first of them.

After him come, in order, Bahusāvarṇi, Bhavasāvarṇi, Dharusāvarṇi and Dakasāvarṇi. These are the five Sāvarṇis. With Raucya and Bhautya after them, the Manus are fourteen in all.
