Drumasena

Drumasena was a warrior on the Kaurava side in the Kurukshetra war. He fought on the last day, when Śalya was the Kaurava commander. The Mahābhārata names him in the Śalya Parva during the fierce fighting around the duel between Śalya and Yudhishṭhira.

On the eighteenth day

On the eighteenth and final day of the war, Yudhishṭhira was locked in battle with the mighty Śalya, who was the last Kaurava commander. Many warriors around them were drawn into the fight.

The Śalya Parva (Chapter 13) records that Yudhishṭhira turned his arrows on Drumasena. He struck him with sixty-four (catuḥshashṭi) arrows. The blow was so strong that the great warrior was left reeling.

Drumasena appears only in this one short mention. Nothing else is told about him. He was one of many Kaurava warriors caught up in the last great fight of the eighteenth day.
