Cekitāna

Cekitāna was a Yādava warrior and a steady ally of the Pāṇḍavas. The Udyoga Parva lists him among the chief commanders and heroes in the Pāṇḍava camp, with Sātyaki and Śrī Kṛshṇa. He fought on the Pāṇḍava side in the war at Kurukshetra.

Who he was

Cekitāna was a Yādava hero of high standing, one of the warriors allied with the Vṛshṇis. He gave himself fully to the Pāṇḍava cause and stayed in Yudhishṭhira’s camp among the assembled warriors.

In the Udyoga Parva, Sañjaya leaves the Pāṇḍava camp to carry Yudhishṭhira’s message back to Dhṛtarāshṭra. This is in Chapter 30. There he sees the heroes gathered in the camp, and Cekitāna is among them.

The meeting at the Gaṅgā

In the Āśramavāsika Parva, Vyāsa called up the whole host of the fallen at the Gaṅgā. Cekitāna rose from the sacred waters among the risen warriors. He was young again and free of enmity. He stayed for one night of reunion and then went back to his loka (world). This is told in Chapter 32.
