Adhvarīvān (son of Sāvarṇi Manu)

Adhvarīvān

Adhvarīvān is a son of Sāvarṇi Manu, the Manu of one of the manvantaras still to come. The Brahma Purāṇa names him in its telling of the manvantaras.

Among the sons of Sāvarṇi Manu

The munis ask Lomaharshaṇa to tell the manvantaras, and the Sūta tells the ṛshis, devas and sons of Manu of each age. Of the coming manvantaras he says that in the time of Sāvarṇi Manu the seven ṛshis will be Rāma, Vyāsa, Aśvatthāmā, Ajara, Śaradvān, Gālava and Aurva. The sons of Sāvarṇi Manu are Vairi, Adhvarīvān, Śamana, Dhṛtimān, Vasu, Arishṭa, Adhṛshṭa, Vāji and Sumati. Adhvarīvān is the second named.
